Finally, art-metal jokesters IWRESTLEDABEARONCE played a prank on the metal community by sending out a press release stating their intention to move the next album to black metal territory, “We were sick of getting lumped in with ‘scene’ and ‘whatever-core’ bands, so we decided to embrace our roots and just go straight black metal on the new album, says guitarist Steven Bradley. “I’d say 90 percent of the new record is straight-up black metal, so we had to change our image to match… Because, of course, that’s just as important, if not more so, than the music.

The band sent out a new black metal logo and a set of pictures sporting black metal poses and corpse paint, As the metal community got blogging and chatting about it the band then turned around and released a song that was nothing to do with black metal, stating they where doing it to be Ironic and for ‘The lulz’ which seemed to irritate a few people.
